Considering new wheels

I have the opportunity to buy these wheels for my 129 (see attached pic). They are MB wheels and were fitted to the last of the line Silver Arrow limited edition 129s. I need a bit of advice about sizes.

My car is a 1999 SL500, so it has the bodywork mods for larger wheels. My alloy wheel brochure suggests that these wheels should be 8.5J x 18" wearing 245/40 R 18 tyres on the front axle and 9.5J x 18" wearing 275/35 R 18 tyres on the rear axle.

However, the vendor of the wheels states that all 4 are 9.5J x 18" and they came off a car like that. What do you think? Will they fit?

I don't know if they'll fit, not my area, but those are awesome.

Wish more people would install aggressive looking rims instead of the same old, same old I always see.

Luke would be one of the people to answer your question, but the wheels are beauts. I prefer the staggered setup myself though. Just seems to give the car a more aggressive look.

I would only go with the staggered set up. I will make further enquiries of the vendor as even in the picture the wheel on the left appears to be narrower than the wheel on the right.

All you have to do is call your mercedes dealer and tell them you have SilverArrow edition mercedes and ask them what mercedes recomends for the rubber size. They will give you size of the tires that mercedes ships with these rims. I just put AMG's on my 97 and the r129 00-92 all have the same setup. The only difference is in 99 mercedes put larger breaks on the front, so 99-02 on you cannot put on anything less that 17" rims.
