380SL Engine Replacement
Does anyone know if the 380SL can accommodate the 560SL engine? Seems the 560 is much more powerful. See below.
Our 380SL (1981) overheated as J returning from her hair appt... now has rod knock so supposing time for replacing the engine. I don't feel too badly about this as it has 245,000+ miles on the original. |

My 1982 380SL has an 1986 560 engine and transmission. It was already installed when I bought the car. There were still some problems to be worked out such as idle speed control but got it all taken care of and have been driving the car dailey for 21 months now. I understand I has been done any times.

M D Nugent (aka Doc) posts often on this site, and has done a good deal with engine conversions in 107s. Find his posts by doing a search of the site for "Ludwig", and check his own site at http://www.carcentric.com/Ludwig.htm.
