Installing Euro Headlights

I just bought a pair of Euro headlights for my '83 500 SL. Has anyone had experience reinstalling these on their cars? Any tricks? These have the vacuum diaphragms on the back-is it possible to hook up the headlight adjustment apparatus so they work as MB intended? Thanks for your input.
