91 300SL driver seat adjustment
 

The drivers seat will not adjust in any direction except when the passenger`s door is opened or the ignition switch is on!Anyone had this experience or have a schematic?Thanks!

I waited for someone with the schematics to answer this first, but since they have not stepped forward I will offer my opinion.

I don't know the exact wiring on these, but I believe the dome light switch in the door jamb might be the cause. ...

Does the dome light come on when you open the driver's door?

Drivers side door does not illuminate dome light when opened.Only the passenger`s door does now.Thanks for any help.

This problem happend to my dads 98sl500. The problem was traced to a faulty door switch. The switch that i in the door jam and senses when the door is open or shut. He just had the dealer replace the switch ($150 total cost) and that solved the problem.
