How to Remove Armrest on 1991 300SL M-Benz

My armrest on my 1991 300SL needs a new latch or maybe the whole entire armrest console....so if anyone out there knows and let me know how to remove the top cover of the armrest with a missing latch i would truly apprecite it...thanks! zee

Is this the door mounted armrest/map compartment or the center armrest console?

I ask because the latch on the center console is the one that typically fails.

And I too have posted about the center armrest repair...the part is cheap and fix is quick and simple...because the entire armrest console is NOT!
