rear soft top to body seal

I'm having a hell of a time installing the rear soft top to body seal. The seal seems too big for the track particularly with the soft top material in there also. Any done this, and do you have any tips? Thanks.

Carefully trim the soft top material out of that groove using a box knife, razor blade, or something similar. You should still have plenty of material glued to the rear bow. Then, using a plastic scraper or similar tool, place one side of the seal in the groove and press the other side in with the scraper.
