Bosch +4 plugs
Anybody have any experience with these new +4 Platinum sparkplugs from Bosch in a mid 80's 500SL or other? Seems like they should help.

The collected wisdom seems to be that the copper HD9C's work better. Lots of posts, try a search.

Thanks Chuck, I'll research it . Sometimes the older engines lik ethe parts they were designed for. I'm also looking into halogen upgrades for the headlights. I realize that some of these "white light " special may be asking for trouble in the overstressed wire/relay category.
Performance Products has suggested a Sylvania "Silverstar" as a direct replacement for my Euro lights without any relay/wiring mods. I'm not so sure. I wonder if the Hella upgrades are safer.... |

Also worthy of note is that the center electrode of a +4 has actually only a tiny little amount of platinum in it. Get one and have a look.
True platinum plugs, ones with an electrode comparable in size to the electrode on a copper plug, are available for most cars, but they are going to cost you about $30 each. |
