560SL Hard Top SIDE Latch won't release

I think every year something happens so I can't get my hard top off... last year it was the rear latch... now this year, the SIDE Latch won't release (passenger side). I have the latch tool and I have the NIPPLE thing that rotates to the back of the car... I rotate to the back of the car and that corner of the hard top WILL NOT release...

Any thoughts?

PS, this is NOT the most pleasant aspect of owning an SL... but at least I don't necessarily have to go the dealer to by something electronic...

I finally got the right pin to release... it just sort of released when I pushed the whole roof forward a bit... gee, I usually see more of a response here on the board.
