Rocker Panels

I have recently inherited a 1983 380SL. The car itself is over all in decent condition runs great. Since I have got most of the mechanical stuff sorted out suspension front and rear gone through and rebuilt front and rear brake systems I am redy to strart the body work. The biggest issue with the body is the front jack points our rusted out. I can get the Rocker no problem but how hard is it going to be to replace them.

I am told it is tough.

My body man says it is tough to replace them. I could use 'em too. The old ones have to be cut out and new ones welded in. The sheet metal looks like 12 ga. when you cut it. If you do the job, let us know how it works out.

Got the rocker panel in it is Genuine MB Rocker so fit should not be a issue. So far here is what it looks like after mos of the damage has been remove. Curious if the rocker can be spliced vertically just after the rust and only replace the forward part No rust in the back section only about the forward 10 inches is bad
