Euro 280sl wire set?
Greeting Forum Members,
After looking at "cheap 560sl's", 38osl's and 280sl's I ended up aquiring a 1985 280sl, automatic, 184k miles in average condition. I'm in the process of doing a tune up but finding the correct ignition wire set has become quite a chore. The current wire set is by Beru with 5k spark plug ends. Wire resistances are ranging from 5.28k to 5.61k. Replacement time? Local parts stores try to match the wires using the US 1981 280ce engine. These wire sets have 1k spark plug ends! Does anyone have a part number for this item or equivalent. Also part of the tune up specifications decal on the valve cover is missing. What should the ignition timing be set to. Thanks, Knarf |
Another forum member recommended these guys for the wires. He said they fit perfectly. They're about 50% or more less than dealer. I'm going to be buying a set there myself shortly.
