Mileage for '86 560 SL

Just bought an 86 560SL. Can anyone tell me the MPG for this Vehicle.

I get 15 mixed and 18 highway.

Thanks for the information. At $2.55 a gallon, it's a good thing I only drive 15 miles a day.

The mileage on wife's '88 560SL is about the same. Premium gas is about $2.10 around here. Wife doesn't care, she doesn't get the CC bill. Daughter is crying about filling her 300E (premium also). Just do the usual stuff. Keep the tire presure up. Good state of tune with a fresh air filter often. Ignition parts do seem to make a difference. Don't cheap out on parts. Get the good stuff that lasts. Oh yeah, Drive with the top down as much as possible. All thoughts of the costs seem so much more reasonable then.

Mileage? You bought the car for mileage? If you want mileage buy the diesels. These cars are not econo boxes 15 to 18 is about all you'll get.

Try running one everyday in the UK. Petrol is nearly $6.00 a gallon here......
