Temperature control question '95 SL320
The only way to get cool air in my car is to set the rheostat to 'LO' any other setting just produces hot air from the vents, except the top center vents. Those are controlled differently.
I had a mechanic look at it when I was getting some other basic work done and he noticed that the resistance didn't change as he moved the rheostat wheel back and forth. So it sounds like it's shot. Is there anyway to just fix that alone or do I have to bend over and buy a whole new temperature control unit? thanks! |

Maybe I am mistaken, but if the tmeprature setpoint display on the controller changes continuously as the rheostat is rotated, then the rheostat is fine. Otherwise, then it is faulty. And if it is faulty, you can disassemble the controller and replace it yourself for a buck or two.
