1993 SL500 Black on Black
I have just posted this on the Audio forum.
"1993 SL500 (Black on Black) Have any members upgraded their audio system? I have the original factory eqt however my daughter ripped the lid off the tape cassette holder (between seats) so I decided it was time to remove the holder and I now have an empty hole there and not sure what to do with it - It looks like it might be a good place to store CD's ( or a drink holder). Now I would like to also upgrade the sound system and speakers as well and do any members have any recommendations for US/CDA installation?" Can any members make any suggestions what to do with this empty hole I now have? Also, my same daughter open the pass side vanity and the cover flap snapped off ( whilst I was trying to figure out how and what excatly snapped - I did the same with the drivers side). Now I have 2 sun visors with no flaps over the mirrore. Can these be repaired or would I have to search for new sun visors and it seems that the hinges are built into the sun visor? Thanks for any help |

Sunvisors
You can purchase a new mirror assembly with flap from the dealer for about $90.

You can buy the drink holder in place of the cassette holders at the dealer. Search the forum about that subject. All later models do not come with the cassette holder, and some earlier models have that as an option. Mine has the drink holder instead.

I saw those drink holders that replace the cassette storage area on Ebay too! I would check that out, but sometimes with your MBCA discount you can get it at the dealer cheaper than on Ebay. Sounds like you have a curious little girl! maybe she will grow up to be an engineer since she is so interested in your machine!

I picked up a replacement compartment from Phil here at Mercedesshop. Not a cup holder but OEM Mercedes.
25 bucks, steep, but fits and works nice. Except the light for the cassette thingie has got no where to go.
