1985 280SL dying! HELP!

The 280SL euro model, can not find repair manual/parts manual. Started acting strange. Shuts off after running, sometimes almost immediately, sometimes in few minutes. I can hear a buzzing sound coming from the "thingy" next to fule injection pump for a second or so after the engine shuts off. I have replaced dist, rotor, plugs, wires, air fltr. When it runs it runs smooth, but the turning off is puzzling. Car starts again after a short while, but will not if I try to start it immediately after shut off. I do not know where the fuel pump is, or fuel filter for this matter. PLEASE HELP!!!

I recently purchased a 1985 Euro 280sl, auto transmisson and also am working on getting my car to run properly.
I purchased a Mercedes Shop manual for the 110 engine used in these cars from a company called Books4Cars.Com.
The Mercedes 110 engine and 107 chassis manuals would pretty much complete any repair or techinical information reference that you might need to work on your car.
I cannot remember the purchase source for my chassis manuals its been so long ago.
Books4Cars.Com @ 206-721-3077 or your local Mercedes dealer may be sources for these manuals.
I can't help you with your shutting off problem, it could be due to a number of things but your fuel pump and filter are located together attached to the right rear underside of the chassis behind the trailing arm.
