Low rumbling at 60-65 mph.

Hello everyone,

My '94 SL has a low rumbling sound at highway speeds between 60-65 mph. I've had the replaced the center support mount, the rear flex disc, transmissions mounts and motor mounts. The sound is only between that speed range and is a constant sound; not reverberating like a pulse. Of course going faster eliminates the sounds but I do not want to get a ticket.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Looks like everyone is stumped. Are you sure it's not the road surface? We're getting a lot of grooved concrete around here that is LOUD. I can't believe communities allow it.

The only other thing that comes to mind for me is wheel bearings, but it doesn't fit the typical symptoms for that.

best,

Dave

I'm thinking it is the harmonic balance of the wind passing over and around the car. Is it possible that it is the driveshaft or would that be a constant sound at any speed?
