SL600 R129 Blinking Mirrors

Sold my E500 and have enroute from Daytona a 2001 SL600 Silver/Blue with Pano roof (yah) and 17" 5-hole wheels (yuk)

While shopping on Ebay.de for Silver Arrow 18" Wheels, came across a guy from Bierut Lebanon that is selling blinking side-view mirrors which he says was an option on the R129 model from 1999 to 2002 and that the cars are pre-wired for this. I spent an hour or so surfing the US suppliers and found the Silver Arrows at a GR8 price but no blinking mirrors.

Any r129 owners that have them, please advise on how to acquire.

Thanx

Tom

Such features do not feature in any promotional literature. I am far from convinced about their authenticity.

Blinking LED 129 Mirrors

Tom:
I purchased a set of these mirrors from the same Lebanon vender as u are describing. I have just received them and am ready to install in my 1990 300SL. I have done this same retrofit on an early Porsche ('79 928 installed '95 928GTS mirrors) and see this as similar difficulty. Any hints to make things easier for me would be appreciated.

Hey Hi Fiver!

:( I hope I don't ruin your day but I did not buy from the Lebanon connection. He wanted about a grand for the entire rig and I only needed the W208 mirror covers with the blinkers in them.

Mine will come primed (I think). My shop agreed to shoot them in my silver color and "bake" them for $50.00. I paid $180.00 which included the shipping. Hopefully, the other sellers on eBay.de are correct about the 1999-2002 model years being pre-wired which should make my install a basic plug n play - if I can figure out how to remove the existing mirror covers.

Even if they are not pre-wired, I can't imagine it would be difficult to have them hooked up.

I know several people who have 1996-1999 W210's that installed the later 2000-2002 W210 side blinking mirrors.

Since the early W210's didn't have them, they couldn't have come pre-wired.

2002 129 Mirror retrofit

Tom:
NO u did NOT ruin my day as I had purchased the set of 2 complete 129 2002 mirror assemblies with the blinker LED mirror covers, all painted to match my color code, and DELIVERED to my California address for hundreds less than u were quoted. I KNOW I got a great deal. I have been dealing with Porsche and Mercedes parts for 15 years and . . . what else can I say.

Have a good day :D
Hifev.
