500SL Rear Window replacement

Hi! Had rear window assembly of soft top replaced....and two side windows are not "taut" but rather have curves in them. Is this poor workmanship, poor quality assembly piece, whatever? Not an MB rear window assembly. Should I go back to the installer and have him re-try? Give it up? Live with it? Other choices? Thanks!

I did replace the complete top in my 85 and to get the windows taunt it was a matter of clamping and gluing the side pieces. The last stut above the window is also a critical part in that it is glued last and stretched by hand.

In summary I would ask the installer to review the installed window now. He had to completely remove the top to put the new window in, so it may have loosened after he finished. Highway driving also stretches it. Mine is now so nice and tight that the rear hold down pops out when released.

Good Luck Bob
