WTB - 617 Engine Starter Bolts

While under the 300SD recently, I noticed the lower starter mount bolt is missing. These are the two large long bolts that hold the starter to the flywheel housing.

I think I should be able to get these cheaper from someone here vice the dealer. Wouldn't expect they are easy to strip - but I state here now that I don't want stripped bolts.

I prefer to use PayPal to pay, or can send personal check and wait for it to clear - no rush.

When my starter bolts go in, they go in with RED threadlocking compound. That tends to prevent this issue.

So, if anyone is parting out a junked 617 (maybe 616 is the same?) that can help me out - thanks. I only need one but would like two bolts to keep a spare.

You might try the parts section of this forum for someone parting a car or engine. I have bought several parts from people parting cars, Its really a good thing.

Here is a link to a guy from the forum parting an engine he might have one or two:

617.95x used engine parts FS

Just a thought.

did you try the dealer on this. Sometimes they are quite reasonable with small parts, and having a new one without a partially stripped allen would be a plus.
