Linkage is hard to find

As for the dashpot, just plug the vacuum line from the carb, and run without it. This set-up works fine.

your carbs

There are several duel carb Mercedes recently put out at the local pick-n-pull I am not familiar with the gas engines so knowing what model it was used in would be a big help. One yard had a real clean looking set on a 200 series car as best I recall. They were so clean looking I almost took them to resell. It would come with all the linkage that is attached to it probably all the linkage for both carbs. This yard is expensive though most likely with core charge it would be about $75 plus shipping. The cheaper yard has three fresh cars with dual carbs but I did not look them over it would be about $10 cheaper one killer is the core charge is $15 and I don’t have a core to return.
Let me know

Thanks Dave, I think the carbs came on the 220Sb and 250/8 up until 72. Here is a couple pictures of the carbs and linkage I need. If you could just get the linkage that would be an option also. If you could get both carbs with linkage for under $100 that would be cool with me.
Thanks again, James

the carbs

Yep that looks like them I am suffer the effects of an old injury but me and my son have to go to Milpitas today which is where the expensive junk yard is. Maybe if they don’t cost too much I can get him to pull it, At the least assuming they have not been taken we can get the linkage. Like I said before this set of carbs was either exceptionally maintained or a replacement set. Rereading your post it sounds like you need a dash pot instead of a carb if this is true is that something that could be taken instead of the whole carb they don’t care if you dissemble stuff it would save a ton of money just to get a internal part instead of the whole thing and there would be no core charge.

Yes Dave just the parts would be fine. If they are willing to let you snag the parts only, all I need is one linkage and the dashpot off the rear carb. Thanks you're a lifesaver, PM me your address and I'll send off a money order as soon as you get a price for the parts and shipping.

Dont count your eggs till they hatch

It is going to be tight if we make it today my son is not off school till three and we have to go to the tow yard first and the car or parts could be gone. But if you have not gotten it by friday we are going to the cheap junk yard and they just put 3 cars out with the dual carbs on them and one diesel fintail one of the gassers even had a spare set of carbs in the trunk. They keep cars for months and I doubt any one will take any thing off them. I dont know what a dash pot is but I have a feeling I will know it when I see it I will just pull every thing off the back of the rear carb is that correct. plus the linkage part which I printed and is in my back pocket.

It's on the front-outside of the rear carb, vacuum thing that controls the idle speed to drop it slowly, I guess is the best I can describe it. Dont kill yourself to get there, whenever you can make it is soon enough for me.
Thanks yet again, James

Ok here is what we found

I talked my son into taking me there I can’t drive because the pain medicine I am on the car was gone. But we saw an old school Mercedes in the middle of the yard it was a 250 good so far door plate dated it march 1970 interior was totally stripped looked like it had been there a long time. Tried to open hood wont open looked under car yep engine is there but the hood release cable has been cut about 1 inch sticking out. Hit grill with hammer it did not break it is real metal pretty cool. Cut hole in grill reach in with vice grips pull release cable cut crap out of hands pop it opens. Air cleaner has not even been removed. Later find out half off this week end assume some one wants engine. For sure got the linkage we got 2 of them. At the rear of the rear carb the only thing that looks like it could be a vacuum pot has no vacuum line to it just one wire. On the front side of the rear carb is the only thing that looks like a pot and it has a vacuum line to it. I will have my son matt post a picture of it shortly but like I said it is an expensive yard cost 11.95 but they will take it back if it is the wrong part. I think matt goes by MJsid I will get him to post picture as soon as he can. I hope it is what you’re after.

Oh My!! what a day, yes those are indeed the parts!! sounds like I owe you big time, just name the price and include the entry fee to the yard, fuel, meds, whatever. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your efforts. If I can help you in any way dont hold back!!
Forever in your debt, James
