400E 2.24 differential/carrier $200 + S&H

This would be great for anyone that does long distance travel. In a 500E it would allow incredible top speeds. In my 93 400E it turns around 2000 RPM at 60mph and 2500 RPM at 80mph so the engine is very quiet and you get excellent road gas mileage. 100 mph is just effortless. Shift points 1st 55 mph, 2nd 85mph, 3rd 135 mph 4th I have no idea what it would top out at. On a trip back from Florida I averaged about 27 miles per gallon which is superb for a 4.2L V8.

I swapped my differential out for a 2.82. This is the entire carrier. All you do is bolt it up to the half shafts and the axle. You will probably need to take off the back plate and use the plate from your car as it has the back plate from the car I got my 2.82 from (94 400SE). Takes about 4-6 hours with a lift.
