I saw this post and took a look at the cars then looked at what else was for sale on Craig’s list. I bought a 976 300d site unseen other than picture in the ad which was not very good but he said the interior was perfect and that is what I wanted for my 76 240D. I go to pay the man and it is a 79 300d. I just went thru this with a lady on Craig’s list she said she had a 59 300d turned out to be a 79 300d. It was not a total loss though for fifteen bucks I got the radiator, oil cooler, fan shroud, power window switches, injector lines and a very fresh set of injectors. He is going to dump the car tonight minus the tires. The engine had a nice rod thru the upper oil pan in a non turbo I have never seen that before if any one in san Jose wants a 79 300d pretty nice interior fair body check Craig’s list for a 76 300d blown engine one hundred seventy five dollars he will even tow it to your house. And I bet he will take $40 for the car
