Gearbox needed for 300TE, anyone help???
I am after a gearbox for a MERC 300TE 24V auto (1991) model. If anyone could help as to where i could get hold of one i would be very grateful.I am in southampton area.

If you mean by gearbox a standard, not-automatic, transmission, then any 4-speed (or is it a 5-speed?) from the same era should replace it. In other words, a 190E 2.3 should supply what you need.
The things to look at are the attachment point to the engine (size of the bellhousing) and the overall length of the unit. -CTH
