pic should be attatched, if not, ill describe. bought my car with a missing lock insert on the drivers side door handle. seems as though it is a standard piece that does not have to do with the keying mechanism, however i am still unable to use this side to open my door with. any ideas? thanks

it looks like someone tried to open the lock with a screwdriver, i had the same thing on my 500, the locks internals were damaged and the handle assy had to be replaced. you can order a complete unit keyed to your car from your local mercedes dealer, or contact phil at fastlane he may be able to get you one.

feels like the key will turn though. i wasnt sure if by just getting a replacement housing to incert in there might fix it completely. but probably ill need a new handle assembly.

a lock smith might be able to get the lock to work, but it will never have the cover again, un less the lock smith can remove remove and install a used one for you.
