Wanted 1996-99 W140 drivers side mirror.

I need a driver side mirror, any color will do but black would be the best.

Mine

Just kidding I helped a friend buy it, now I am helping him sort it out. Damn nice car he picked it up for $11,500. On the drive back from MA the eco guage was just under 30mpg!! This thing gets freaken better mpg's then my SDL on the highway! It makes me wonder why I don't get one, the W140's drive much better then the W126's. Better brakes, steering, sound proofing. Plus at least with the S320 half the parts on the car are just like my SDL, their is almost no learning curve working on this thing.

I doubt that it can reach 30 mpg, but with a decent high gear and the benefits of a better body than the W126, it might make 27 or so. The 300 SEL isn't known to do much better than 21-22 on the highway. What's the rpm in high gear?

I could never own one of them. Too fuggglly.

I don't mind the looks really I think with the right wheels they are sharp.

Maybe not 30 but it was probably getting 27. We were only doing 60-65 and it was probably turning just a tick over 2k if my memory serves me. But I don't remember exactly. It has a 5spd auto.

I am used to my friends S600 that is almost idling at 60. The S320 pulls nicely, its faster then the SDL by a good margin. But compared to the S600 it's a bit of a dog. I like how the W140's drive like a much smaller car. With the W126 you know you are driving a big car, with the W140 you think you are in a mid size car.

If I was in the market for another car I would consider a mid to late 90's S. Probably an S420 though I think the V8 would be nice. Everywhere I look on these things I see hints of the W126, they really are almost an evolution of the W126.

I think 27 is very doable in an S320.

In my 1993 E320, I got 26 mpg going to Las Vegas, with the cruise control pegged at 80 mph.

S320's have the 5 speed auto, and the 5th gear is a higher gear than the E320's 4th gear.

I just added an S500 into my garage parked next to my SDL. On the long drive home in the S500 I noticed the mpg gauge at 27mpg often, but the miles per tank came out to 23 mpg (+/-) highway. The mpg gauge makes you feel better when you look at it and your foot's not into it (don't look when your foot's down).

Hatterasguy: I'm don't see how the w140 feels like a smaller car compare to the 126. The w140 is much tighter into my garage with my narrow 8' wide garage doors. The 140 seems to be about 5 inches wider mirror to mirror. They both feel the same in lenght. Oh, was the S320 a short wheel base?

Yes the S320 is a SWB. The W140 drives like a much smaller car with lighter steering, better brakes ect. They are larger then the W126 but not by that much.
