1978 300CD, all original, 115K miles, absolutly perfect except for a cracked dash. I am not going to install a molded dash cap. This car deserves a nice original dash. I do use dash caps and carpet covers on cars that are any less than perfect but a W123 this cherry deserves only the best.

I have a black one that is from a 1978 240D. It has been in the shed a while but it was about as close to perfect as I have seen. I'll take a look in the morning.

Andrew,

I went and drug the dash out and took a few pics for you. It is still in pretty good shape. I've had it in storage for about 10 years now, hoping I'd find a car to put it in. However, I've developed an affinity for the 201 chassis and I'll never use it.

It has no cracks, but does have two imperfections that I can see.

1: Has a small finger-nail tip sized indention above the instruments. (may come out in the sun?)
2: Has two approx. 2 inch long 'bubbles' along the crease on the top center of dash.

I've circled them on one of the pics. They really aren't too noticable looking straight on at the dash.

Also, the dash had a lot of dust and such on it. I did a quickie clean and armor-all to take the pics, but still needs a true detailing.

Does $60 sound good for it? I know shipping may be a bit high to the west coast, so it's your call.

Let me know!

Klaus

Hey Kevin!

Speaking of blue interior.....how did the parts from my Mom's wrecked wagon turn out? Did you get all those interior bits installed?

No I haven't redone the interior yet. I have the interior from your mom's car and an interior from another TD in storage. I've been replacing suspension and mechanical parts on this car like crazy, after I get that done, I'll have it painted and I'll put the interior back in...

My daily driver, Shabby, gets me to and from Charlotte every day, the only change made to that since you saw it was the addition of a CB; it helps to pass the commute...

BTW that blue TD parked at the Broad River truck stop right off of I-85 disappeared right arround Christmas, damn I was a week away from meeting his price.....
