I have 2 torsion (anti-sway) bars that I need to get rid of. I have one that goes to a W126 chassis. This particual bar would attach to a suspension that is called a "wheel carrier suuport". Basicly the bar attaches directly to the wheel assy. versus, via a link. Per the MB manual for my W116 this goes to a suspension that has a "starting torque compensation". The part number off the bar is 126 326 39 65. The other bar is for a W201, which I believe is the 190E series. I don't know if it's a front or rear bar. It has some odd bends to it, unlike a normal rear bar which usually only has 2 bends to it. The part number off this bar is 201 326 38 55 or 35. It is hard to make out the last numbers. There is a funny story as to how I got these. 3 weeks ago I ordered from Atlanta-Stuttgart a rear torsion bar and headlight bezel for my W116. A week and half goes by and my parts showed up, but the torsion bar was the wrong one. It was for a W126. A/S even wrote on the bar 500SEL which didn't exist for the W116 chassis. Well I tried over 3 days to get a hold of someone down there and I finally got through. I told them the situation, they appologized and said this was an on-going problem with their shipping dept. She said she would have the right one sent out and also send a return shipping authorization to send the W126 bar back. Well a week goes by and still no bar, so I call them again. This time they said it still hadn't been shipped out according to the "shipped parts" list. They again appologized and said they'll be sure to get it out right away. That night the correct W116 bar showed up. The next morning I called them to let them know and not to send me another one. Also that there was no return label. They said they'll send that right out. Well 3 days later another torsion bar showed up, this time it's for a W201. I immediately called them. The guy on the phone could not believe this was happening. I still didn't have a return label. He put me on hold and came back to say they weren't going to send me a return authorization. So I flat asked him does that mean they don't want their parts back and he said I guess so, don't worry about it.
So I have 3 torsion bars hanging in the shed and I can only use 1 of them. If anyone would like either of these, you can have them for FREE since they didn't cost me anything. All that I ask is to cover shipping.

The torsion bar for the W201 is spoken for. I still have the W126 available for FREE + shipping.

I have a 87 560 SEL.... This anti-sway bar, is this something that's a factory standard item and you have a replacement or is it something that wouldn't already be on my factory standard car? I wouldn't mind getting one for my car, but if I've already got this one on there, then I don't really need it.

Let me know. THanks!

Your car would of come from the factory with it. A torsion/anti-sway bar is on just about every car. This is what helps reduce the body lean you would get in a turn. The reason I am replacing mine is because for some unknown reason the previous owners had it cut with a torch. Basicly it's a useless piece of metal right now, until I put the "new" one on. So unless yours is some how broken, you wouldn't need a new one.
