300 D engines, 240 D parts
 

A friend has three 300D engines, 2 turbo and 1 non-turbo, for sale. Plus many 240D parts including a complete 4 spd manual trans set up.

I'm about to acquire a 1980 300D with lousy compression. Can I drop a turbo engine into this car, or is it too much trouble?

The other question is this -- we have two 300D turbos, and '84 and an '85. If I drop a non-turbo into the 1980, am I going to be totally frustrated with the performance by comparison?

Finally, what's your friend want for the engines?
