Dealer said the evaporator on my 400E needed to be replaced. So I order a new evaporator and expansion valve and then I figure out why you guys call it the "death sentence" job. So then I call my trusty A/C guy, he comes out, does a leak test and doesn't find anything - pressure holds, nothing detected from the sniffer, no signs of dye leaking from the hoses or expansion valve. Fills the system up with R134 and the AC is blowing ice cold. So much for the "stealer."

So lucky me, I get out of the death sentence job but now I have a new evaporator and expansion valve I don't need. The parts place told me it was all OE Mercedes and it should fit all '86-'95 E-Class models. I'm asking $125 w/ free shipping or best offer. I'm located in the SF Bay Area. TIA.
