2.47 diff out of '86 560sec - $125

Purchased for my '84 300sd, but didn't realize at the time that the mounting scheme was different after 1985...so it doesn't fit my car. Anyway, I just want what I paid for it ($125+ shipping.)

I don't think it is a LSD, but if you know how to verify, I will check.

Turn the input shaft by hand. If both the output flanges rotate the same direction, it's limited-slip. If the flanges each turn a different way, it's not limited slip.

or on the bottom right, there is a tag saying supperdifferential orsomething to that effect. But a tag doesnt mean that it is LSD.

Thanks Dave. The 2.47 that I recently found from a '84 500 SEL is a limited slip. I thought it odd that the output flanges rotated together when the yoke was turned.

I found this one out in Anamosa, Iowa..........a fellow parting out a 500SEL.

But, I'm not sure what to do with it..........the 2.88 seems perfect for the 68-70 mph speeds that are about the limit around here. A good hill needs all of the torque from the 2.88 to hold 65 mph.
