I am selling the hydraulic pump from the rear self-leveling system from my '84 300td. I recently purchased this wagon, but the previous owner had a donor engine from a sedan installed, so the pump cannot be mounted, so I have one available(he gave it to me when I bought the car). I was thinking $75 for it, plus shipping.
The mystery here is, does it actually work? I don't know how to test it, but the P.O. said the SLS system worked fine before the engine swap. I opened it up and cleaned it up and it operates fine by hand, but I know that doesn't mean much. What I was thinking was if you were to buy it and it did not work, or leaked, I would gladly refund your money.
Sorry this is a bit of a leap of faith, but I have no need for it and I know they are expensive new, so perhaps someone could use it.
I do not have the 4 bolts that mount the pump to the block, and only one of the bolts that holds the two pump halves together is present. You should be able to use these from your old unit.
Thanks for the interest.
B.T.W, great forum. I have successfully completed many inexpensive repairs thanks to you guys!
