I have a 104 2.8 engine for free locals only im in Grand Rapids Area (KENTWOOD) you pick up ...

Seriously, do you have a way to lift it onto a trailer? What year is it and what comes with it. But I do want it.

I dont know if you really wannt it because i think the engine would be only good for parts there are no add-ons on and i think the camshaft is broken cause the Mechanic told me it would be cheaper to get a rebuild one which i did with 50.k on it .

the engine is from a 93 300e 2.8.. and has 100k on it ( i can take some pics if you want)

now about lifting it on the truck how high is the trailer cause i dont think it would be a big deal to lift it . me ,you and my other brother could do the with ease.

Some pix would be good. Are you sure it is a broken camshaft? If so, did any valves touch the pistons, or ruin the head? If you don't know, could you find out? If all that is wrong is the cam, I would still be interested. I have the ability to rebuild the engine myself, but would not want it if major parts such as the head or block are damaged.

well i'm not that big of a geek around cars but this is what happend i was about to do the headgasket job and the wiring harness so i took it to the mechanic and he somehow this is what he told me DID NOT PUT THE TIMING CHAING RIGHT ON THE CAMSHAFT AND HE SOME HOW BROKE IT SO FOR HIS STUPID MISTAKE HI PAYED ME FOR A REBUILD ENGINE WITH 50K ON IT AND A HARNESS

THE ENGINE IS PUT TOGHETER AND I DONT KNOW WHATS INSIDE ILL TAKE SOME PICS IN COUPLE MINS.... HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON...

Sounds like at least one valve hit a piston. Pix would help. I have to leave for a couple of hours. Catch you when I get back.

Thank you again... Got the motor back safe. Pulled out the cams they all looked good except the gear torn of one of them...lol Pulled of the head and what do ya know..... All the valves and pistons are bad.... Not sure what the guy did but Eveything so far exept for one of the cams are good...

This was my kid posting above. He needs to get his own user ID here.
The valves and pistons are fine. Just the cam end broke. Have no idea why yet. It snapped right at the front journal of the camshaft.
Everything looks great inside this engine. You must have taken good care of it. Very clean - almost like new!
