Well, after a couple months with my replacement for Eduardo, I've decided I'd like to find another W116 300SD (or maybe an old 108 280SE 4.5) for my daily driver. Don't get me wrong, this 300D is great, but I really need a bigger car. I'm not in any great hurry to sell it but of anyone on the board here wants a beautiful, southern 300D, this one is it! I am the second owner. I bought it from a friend of mine who was the original owner. He had it serviced at the local MB dealer in Akron, Ohio and there are now three maintenance booklets full to the brim with service stamps! The car has 291,000 miles on it but runs beautifully. It is Signal Red which is quite a rare color over Tan MB-Tex. This car has been babied all it's life and spent the last 7 or 8 years down in Palm Beach in the winters. It's completely original and is in gorgeous condition inside and out. The interior still looks and smells brand new (neither of us smoke) and all the electric options work. It does also have the optional sunroof which works great. I have all records for the work done on the car when it was in Florida and of course the manitenance books. I also have all original manuals and the original window sticker. This car needs absolutely nothing except a new set of tires to be used without worry every day, and if I have it long enough, I may just go ahead and put new tires on it as it is currently my daily driver. The paint is very nice, although because it is original there are some stone chips above the headlights on the hood, which can be expected after nearly 300,000 miles. When the car was in Florida it was kept garaged at all times. The PO drove it from Fla to Ohio where I picked it up. I have run it back and forth from Cleveland to Cinci now about 6 or 7 times and it's performed flawlessly. The climate control works great, and I just put new drive belts on it and recharged the A/C (it has been converted to 134a). There's only one tiny spot of rust on the entire car and that is on the front edge of the right rear wheel arch. The tranny shifts nicely and does not slip and the car starts right up even in the cold weather without being plugged in. Right after I bought it, I left it sit out on a 10 degree night and it fired right up the next morning. It does also have a block heater. I will probably adjust the valves this weekend since I finally have some free time and will change the coolant and brake fluid shortly when I get back down to the shop. So it'll be fully serviced and ready to go. I'm asking $3,500 for it, and that's somewhat negotiable. If interested, please e-mail me at: Benzpower@aol.com.
