My 1981 300D has broken spring(s) and I would like to replace the 'spring box'. The ones in my parts were even worse.

Make me an offer on a good lower seat spring base. Chris

how do you fix the springs in the 300D seat. I saw something with brake line

replace the broken spring box with a good one from the JY. usually the passenger seat will have good stiff springs, and will swap over to the drivers side. just have to swap over the tracks.

Also the W126 seat bottoms will fit in a W123, at least 81 to 85. not sure of the 86 to 91 models.
