in need of w123 front seat springs

springs must be in excellent condition. I have a bad back and cannot tolerate the lean......and SWMBO will not ride in car till they are fixed.
I have an 83 300D

Watch Ebay - there was one last week that went for $51 + shipping. A great deal considering retail price. A good upholstery shop may be able to refurb your existing seat also.

can they replace the springs themselves?I can live with the covers but the spring itself is very weak on one side. As far as ebay, I have been watching. The seat I believe you are refering to was from a 500 series. There is a pair on now, and I contacted him. shipping would be something like $250........not doing that for seats he cannot (will not?) verify have good springs.

A good upholster or mattress company could. Have you looked at this thread for some temporary relief?

The link is a good pictorial but you really don't have to remove the seat from car to do it. Do you know how to pull the bottom cover off?

Jack - someone else will have to answer that.

To remove the cover start on the back edge next to the door. Use a pair of needle nose start the cleat removal from track. After you get that started work by hand all the way around the seat. You don't have to do the rear cleat just flip it up to work on springs. After you do your repairs start where you finished working back around to the door.

I have both seats out of a 1983 300D. The driver seat has a tear in the seat about 5inches in length. Otherwise the springs seem to be in good condition.

I did my 240D seats last summer and went on a 600 mile trip, my back never felt better, it was even theraputic. did both seats and repaired a broken sping from the same website. only costs about $5 per seat.
