Wanted 84 300SD hood and grille
 

I'm considering buying an 84 300SD, but it needs a hood and grille. I'm checking price and availbility before I buy it. Can any one help? I'm in central PA and will travel to pick it up.

If your hood is damaged you might want to change out the hood hinges... Jim

I'm in No. VA and I have a good hood and hinges. Possibly also a grille, will have to check tonight. Hood is silver. Also have a dark blue or black hood. Will have to check. Please contact me at juergenhbr@ieee.org

The SD hood would originally be Aluminium, but if you change the hinges you can use the hood from SE or SEL models, which are steel, I have both, but I am to far away to consider shipping, typical prices are around $100. Best bet is local wrecking yards.

Carefully check the car for rust, esp on the underbody, sway bars, etc.

Also make sure the front unibody rails are not damaged.

If you find a m117 engine'd (500/560) SEL then the hood is not steel.
