300SDL head
What year engine? they made 5 cylinder and 6 cylinder diesel SDL's.
I have a nice #19 head for the 86-87 6 cyl diesel. $900 with fresh valves, new springs, and genuine MB seals. Pictures available. Jim in Phoenix Quote:

603 diesel head
Don.
Ross will have first shot at this head, see description and one attached photo. The head is located in Phoenix. This is a number 18 head, I think I said 19 earlier in the forum. The head had a crack between the valves on number 6 cylinder. The machine shop ground out the crack (which was not leaking water) and welded up the head, and also welded some water jacket holes that had opened up. after welding, new valve seats were installed in number 6, the head sealing surface was machine cut, and all the valves were ground and seated. I will install the valves with new springs and factory stem seals pending inspection by a potential buyer. The head has been pressure tested and is tight. A new. bare head, is over $1800 and I want $900 for this head, as described ,with valves, springs and seals. I have had this head on hand for some time, thinking that I will buy a complete car in need of a replacement head. As I get older, I get less interested in that approach, but for the right price, anything is possible. I have about $600 invested in this head. I also have the cam, injectors, glowplugs, and prechambers available. Jim in Phoenix

1987 300sdl head
I just had my engine replaced on my 1987 300sdl which had problems with two pistons/rings. I'll be taking back the old engine next week and parting it out.
So I have a known good head also if the other ones don't pan out. Located in Massachusetts.
