Parting :1979 240D 4 speed.
 

Just obtained ...Parts car only...VIN #123123 10127061....05/79 240D ....Ratty body and interior.
New drivers manual window lift. Wow! :)

Remanufactured engine and new oil cooler.
I drove it...smooth, instant ( Bump.) start, no smoking or haze.
Also followed it for 11 miles...no smoke, runs clean....normal coolant temperature ( 89 F ambient )...oil pressure warm idle, 1.5 bar.
4speed is okay, rear axle bad clunk on on/off throttle.

No a/c equipment.

Fenders okay...floor rusted through under front seats....body is not good for much. Seats all tatty.
Starter is knackered....need to push start it...will see if I can find a starter to properly check start quality.

Will do a comp' and leakdown test if you are buying engine.
Will part out the complete 4 speed assembly .

BTW, Will only sell complete transmission assembly as a kit....ie...drive shaft, clutch pedal assembly,transmission, shifter etc etc.

Steering box dry and tight.
