W126 seat switches - Soldered in Version
 

WTB - W126 front seat switches, both sides. I need a working pair of the soldered in version with enough wire left on that I can splice them into my wiring harness. If you don't have two, I'd be glad for one.

Are the soldered versions rare?? Can you use the newer type switches with the plugs and just cut the wires about 3-4 inches from the plugs?? Jim

I think so. I tried to use a set that had the memory feature but they did not work as there is no power going to them. All the other wires are the same but no +12v.

On my car, going to the motors are 8 wires, white-black, blue-violet, green-yellow, orange-gray. There are 2 power wires one red and one red/white, or they could both be red. There may also be a ground wire.

I think if the plug type has this setup they'll work. Let me know.

You should be able to buy a kit that lets you convert the soldered version to the new type with the connector. You don't want to cut the existing wires, desolder them from the bad switch and solder new ends onto it. These ends fit into a new connector (part of the kit) and this plugs into the new switch.
I did this on my 83 SD. Not cheap at 75 for the kit and 110 for the switch, but I don't think you can buy the old type switch anymore except used... I guess if you can find a working one you could transfer the wires over. I would still rather desolder the old wires rather than cut and splice...Oh and be very careful that you don't break the newly installed switch when you go to reinstall the door skin (don't ask me how I know this...)
