1976 240D for parts
 

This car is burgundy with red interior which is in very good condition. It has 148,000 miles on it. The car is nearly impossble to start. The car has an auto trans and trans shifted OK for the two weeks I got to drive it. It has aluminum MB rims. Car is complete right now. Please email me with your needs. The car is near Detroit, Michigan but I will disassemble and ship most parts.

Seems a shame to break that up, they aren't making anymore of them. Does the engine smoke badly when running? the hard starting may just be glow plugs or a bad relay. Have you though of selling the whole car?

When running the car doesn't smoke except a little on acceleration.

If you do a search on my ID you will see that with the help of many kind and helpful people here, that the possible causes have been beaten to death. Problem seems to be low compression and a combination of some unknown, maybe the injector pump, but not the glow plugs and car has no GP relay. GPs tests OK and during the period when the car has run lately, it would start cold but not hot, when glow plugs aren't even needed.

The whole car in it's current condition appears to have no value, as it has been listed for parts twice and no one has made an offer. Several people have said that it is a shame not to save it, but only one person voiced an interest in buying the whole car from me, but he is too far away.

How much for the entire hood star/fake radiator cap assembly?

Where are you located? Would this have to be shipped or would it be picked up?
