Wife got Old Blue whacked for the last time. Lots of good stuff left on her (the car, not the wife ) save for the LF headlight, grille, Oil cooler, radiator...the point of the near T-bone.

Old Blue is the car under the cover at the right of the signature pic.

Hey, James. Wife is from your neck of the woods. Everybody down there learn to drive demo derby?

1. Wheels. Standard 84, 85 OEM (model with no hub caps), alu or mag, not steel anyway; the version that needs the longer bolts.

2. Damage. Severely damaged areas include: LF fender, LF main/fog/turn signal, F bumper, hood, oil cooler, radiator, RF and RR doors. The rest of the car is OK for being 22.

3. Interior. Blue leather. Some stuff sold already.

4. Cruise Control. Don't remember if it worked; we used it for local commuting. No idea if it will work in a 240D.

5. Instruments. Instrument cluster is all together. About 100K ago I had a leak in the line to the oil pressure gauge, had that element pulled and replaced with new. It all worked at the time of the final demise

I could use the air cleaner housing provided the 1985 is the same as the 1984 engine.

Are you going to part it until there's nothing but a frame on cinderblocks? If so, somebody should grab the special 2.88 differential.......

Noble Forum Fellows,

At first glance, all the stuff mentioned by Ken, James, Dave (the geek), and GC are still on the car.

Ken - The air cleaner housing, cover, intake air tube, etc. are all there but I have no knowledge if it's the same as on an 84. Suggest you might compare part numbers by years from Fastlane or other source.

James - Cluster is present; need to check on the carpet (which kind?)

Dave - All that stuff is present. Advise what's wrong with the regulators. Check threads by me repairing what I thought were defective (clack-clack sounds); just needed some straightening of the mount plate, cleaning, lube.

GC - yes to glove door; will check serviceability of driver map pocket, specifically the plastic mounting fasteners. Silver Bullet came with a brokent fastener that I repaired with a molly bolt.

Hope to be back from Africa by 1 November.
