I wouldn't do that...
If you put on bigger rims and smaller sidewall tires, be prepared to have the ride suffer a lot. These cars were designed for large sidewalls with lots of 'give'.

My 300TS has 17" rims and low profile tires and it rides pretty rough. I like the look and don't mind the hardness of the ride, but it's nothing like it would be with the stock tires on it.

15" on a W126 will be fine. The ride won't be affected.

If I put 15's or even 16's on vs the stock 14's how are my tires smaller? AA

I cannot feel any difference in ride quality between the 70 series sidewalls on the SD and the 65 series sidewalls on the SDL. Both of them have a relatively poor ride and find every slight crack in the pavement. The SDL is actually better than the SD due to the tires and the longer wheelbase. Naturally, if you carry this to the extreme, I'd expect a decrease in ride quality if you went from a 70 series to a 55 series. That's just too dramatic to overlook. |

I don't have a pic, but the edge has abrasions on it and the paint is peeling some. They are straight though, I had that checked. They need to be bead blasted and painted. A little work on the abraded edge with a sander or a file should take care of that too.
Excellent for spares or to refinish. Tom W
