So who's looking for a set of 98/99 CLK 16's? Got a set FS...
I'm cleaning house and everything extra has to go...new project in-bound.
This is what I've got...decent tires, but lots 'o curbrash...would be perfect for an autocrosser...ahem...

Yeah, the curb rash is a shame, but that's all it is. I'd keep them myself...but I've got a set...until I find something else, he he he.
I'm asking $325 shipped. The last set on ebay went for $400 shipped. They're 16x7 ET 37.

Thanx James. Now a question, I just put on 16x8 8-holes with a 41 ET and they protrude just a bit more then expected. The 34 ET on these wheels would pull them back in a bit, right? I think my original 15" 15-holes were 34 ET.
Plus, these are 1" thinner wheel. Am I correct in reading the tire size as 205/55? These would go on an 87 or 89 124.

Price seems good!, but damn that's a lot of curb-rash...has to be a parallel parking result. Let me know if you get a set that is closer to nice condition!

Quote:
Actually the smaller the ET number, the further the wheels will stick out...so these ET37's would actually stick out 4mm more...BUT since these are narrower by 1" (25.4mm) you subtract half of that width difference (12.7mm but we'll just say 13mm for simplicity) and you'll end up with it sticking out 9mm LESS. On the backside of the wheel you'll have 17mm of additional clearance...which is always good. Maybe the pic below will help explain better than my garble:

Thanx James. I noticed the wheels on your coupe. These would go on a euro 300E or a 260E, both 124s. So. since my 8-holes have a larger ET than my stock wheels, I guess the protrusion is attributible to the additional 1.5" in wheel width. It is not obvious to anyone but me anyway...
Oh yeah, I only see the ubiquitous red "X" instead of your posted pic, above!

It might be photoshop being overloaded as I'm looking at it fine.
Here's a few shots for you... ...but if you're really nice I can bolt them up to the 190D in the driveway...although I did stumble across a pic of one with them on it already.

Is there any other way to mod a car? Lowering is usually my second project, wheels/tires the first.

How do you go about lowering the 280CE?
What happened to the wheels on that car, are they for sale? ...they look to be in better shape.

I never got to lower the 280CE...I missed my 300CD too much and got another...and Vogtland springs for it.
The wheels on the 280CE are in much better shape, but they're moving to the 300CD tonite or tomorrow when I put the bundts back on it for a possible sale/trade.

I'll bet James is leaving the unmolested wheels on the CE to enhance the sale-ability!
Edit -- oops, posted simultaneously with james!
