wanted: 300E 5 spd. beater/parts car
I'm looking for a 300E 5 spd. parts car/beater. If someone has a lead to one of these I would most appreciate it. Cash buyer waiting, will pick-up in mid-Atlantic region. Don't care if it doesn't run. My daughter will be driving in less than 2 years, has her eye on the 300E. I need a 95 E300 Diesel converted to a 5 spd. for my daily driver.
Thanks!

I've got an '86 190D 5 speed that I will be parting out...was told it had low compression, but the intake cracked last night after replacing the glow plugs. If interested, send a PM.

James, thanks! At this point I will stay with the 300E (W124) chassis search. In my spare time, I need to spend a few hours on the EPC to discover what parts MAY be common to yours. I'm sure that most are, but crossmember, driveshaft, pedal cluster, etc. come to mind. Other folks may be interested, what are you asking?
In the "ahem" department, was a 396 an option in 96 or do you get visits from the "originality police"?

The car was being parted out here, but nobody ever came up with the money for the tranny so the PO never pulled it. I will do that before scrapping the car if nobody wants the car with it still in it. A w123 4-speed just went for $300 on ebay, so I think $400 is a fair asking price, $50 for the linkages, pedals, shifter, DS, and anything else that is needed.
The 94-96 SS only came with the 350 LT1. At 172k mine let the magic smoke out and I began to make it bigger/better. A small-block 396 LT1 seemed to be the best idea (and closest to any type of budget)...but it's still not running...darn computer programs.
