Unhappy SL320 For Sale

I just bought this car two weekends ago from Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, Maryland and am sad to report that my fiancee has asked me to sell it -- the SL was supposed to be a gift to her (and me), but after driving it a few days, she thinks the car is too small and has reverted to driving her Audi sedan (which we were planning to sell).

About the car, it's in excellent shape -- it's Starmarked, and has factory warranty coverage for the next 3 years. The car is smoke silver and has a black leather interior -- I believe it has every option that was available in 1995 (manufactured in 11/94). Also, the car has always been garaged and maintained by either American Service Center in Arlington, VA and/or Euro Motorcars in Bethesda. Other relevant facts: 54K miles, interior and exterior in flawless shape, 6 cd changer, windscreen, MB hardtop carrier plus cover, and recently serviced. I am asking $37,900 for the car (which is substantially less than I what I paid for the car -- I will provide all my sales documentation to prove it).

If anyone's interested in the car, I would really like to hear from you -- I can be reached at acm123071@yahoo.com. B/t/w, the car is located in Georgetown (DC).

If you will propose to me, I'll take the car! Actually, I've found that some people just aren't Mercedes people. Or, they feel uncomfortable with one. My wife is a school teacher in a less-than-middle-class area, and she does feel pretentious driving either of ours to school. Even when she explains that they aren't new and the 300E cost less than a 4 year old Honda Accord, it's still a Mercedes-Benz. I have a friend who would love to own one, but he's a home inspector here in San Antonio. He could drive up to a construction site in a brand new club cab 4 x 4 super dude dogged $40,000 pickup and no one would blink. But if drove up in a 20 year old 200K mile Mercedes Benz...

Of course, if everyone knew what we know about the value in owning a Mercedes...

acm, I feel for you, man!

My wife is CONSTANTLY making subtle attempts to sell her 500SL...she loves the car, (got it for her birthday also) but feels it's too expensive to keep (given the downsized ecomony, and my downsized income as well).

I am hoping things turn around, because one day, she will eventually prevail, and there will be an empty bay in the garage where a beautiful convertible once resided...

...although, it probably hasn't helped her chances for a raise when it's parked in plain view by her boss's office window. He drives a Camry...
