Hello,

I am looking for an aluminum timing chain cover for my 1986 W124 300D with a 6 cylinder non-turbo diesel engine. The part number is R603 015 00 01. Please let me know if you have one available and how much you are asking for it. Shipping will be going to Castro Valley, CA.

You might want to buy a new one instead... the original design was flawed, and can break at the tensioner area. The new design is reinforced in this area. A new one will be $150-$180, but there's so much work involved in replacing this thing, it might be worth considering...

Thanks juergenhbr. Good price on the cover........However, I didn't realize that there was an updated reinforced cover available. The broken tensioner area is exactly what happened to mine. I am going to try and find an updated one since this is the second time that I am doing this job. I don't want there to be a third! Thanks for the post and for the offer of your part.

If anyone has an updated cover for sale with the part number R 601 015 06 01 (as shown in gsxr's second picture), please let me know. I would be interested in new or used.
