W126 euro bumpers, 1st gen, 80-85 style

For Sale:

Pair (front/rear) of euro bumpers for the W126 series.
Chrome nice, no breaks in plastic.
Complete with towing cover and brackets, though RR bracket is bent and requires straightening. Medium grey, but need to be repainted.

Similar to USA style, but much shorter, and the chrome trim runs all the way to the ends of the bumpers, vice stopping at the corner.

$100, plus shipping, or you can pick them up in Chesapeake, VA.
I'll take a guess at shipping at around $175, but greyhound would be much less if you are in a location where the dog stops.

Hi, I am interested. Can you send me pictures? Also, can you tell me what shipping would be to Anaheim, CA 92808? Thanks

I'll get some pics after work today. Gotta figure out the weight and see what greyhound wants....

I have an 85 Euro SE that is apparently second gen, what would the difference be from these?

JimFreeh 03-20-2008 07:01 PM

85 should be first gen.

Later bumpers (86-91 euro) have a deeper front and rear skirt.

Later bumpers in the US are very rare, as the grey market went bust by 86......

I also have a 1985 500SEL grey mkt car, and the bumpers are the same as these off the 81 280S.

I think that's why my car is so unusual, apparently it's a very late 85 model, all the other parts from the car are the same as the second gen, I will look this weekend to see if bumpers are different from the ones you posted. It would be good to have an extra set around for that price since they already need to be painted.

Another key would be the lower side panels.

Early cars were ribbed, the late (86+) cars were smooth.

has smooth side panels but can't see the bumpers in the pic I have, the pics are in the lifespan of m117 thread
