Thanks

Lux.

Would a speedometer from an 89 300SEL work? May not look the same, but it would be 2 years younger.:D

I have the speedomenter from an '84 300D. I'm not sure if they are a match...

I have a 160 mph speedo from a 420 SEL with the same 2.88:1 ratio as the 300SDL. PM me if you want it

I have utterly no idea if that would work. Have you compared the connections/diff. ratio to an SDL?

I have a way to find out. I pulled my instrument cluster last night and sent my speedometer\odometer off for repair. Maybe, I'll just pull the one out of that car and hook it up.

Nope, won't work. Thanks, though.
