I would recommend starting the auction at $.99 if you're going to set a reserve anyway. You'll get more hits and more watchers, and I have found that items started at lower prices sell higher 99% of the time. I sell quite a bit and have started listing things at $.99 almost exclusively and I can't remember the last time I set a reserve. I have never been disappointed in my ending prices, either.
