Nice European W116 (1973-1980) Mercedes-Benz Cloth Interior And Parts (Spanaway, WA)
I am not selling these parts, but I want to let others know that there is a 1977 European model Mercedes W116 sedan with a NICE blue velvet interior, manual heater controls, etc at Rollins Auto Wrecking at 20620 Mountain Hwy E, Spanaway, WA. The tires have 90-100% tread left. Also, the ignition switch still has the key in it if you need a new switch. I already took the headlights. Rear windshield is in perfect condition, and the front windshield has a rock chip.
They also have an American 1976 450SEL that was in MINT condition when it was brought in. I pulled the mint condition dashboard. Unfortunately they stacked another car on top of it recently and damaged the roof, glass, and some of the door panels. I think it will be crushed soon. I would jump on the opportunity if you are in Washington state! |

I take it the euro didn't have the manual windows you were thinking about? If it has the small euro bumpers in decent shape you should grab them for yours or for trading material. They look so much nicer then the US spec ones IMO.
What color was the interior on the US spec car? Did it happen to be tobacco brown?

Nope, I keep running across the Euro Benzes, but none with the manual windows yet. The front bumper was gone, and the rear was rough. I used to have a set of Euro bumpers that were in mint condition, but I sold them for $10 because I didn't think they were worth anything. Somewhere there is an old Datsun pickup with Mercedes bumpers on it. Haha!
Yes, the interior of the American one is tobacco brown (well, it's not tan anyway) and it WAS in MINT condition (could be new or just VERY well maintained), but sadly they set another car on top of it and the pillar trim got squished and some of that trim crushed the door panels. I was so sad because I wanted to eBay the entire interior. But, the front seat cushions were a LITTLE saggy. The seat skins were in perfect condition, which is rare for being real leather, not MB-Tex. |

too bad they set another car on it
I could use a set of drivers side 116 seat skins in tobacco brown MBtex for a reasonable price. Have a good seat, but need to change the color someday. Hard to find decent seats in my area, the covers are always toasted.

Is there a difference between driver and passenger side seat skins? I think they are interchangeable. I don't think there was anything wrong with them, but I don't know how much longer the car has before they crush it. This wrecking yard tends to charge a lot for parts (spent $100 yesterday on a used battery and a pair of headlights). I still may be able to pick the skins up for you. I know the bottoms tend to come off easily. The tops take a little more work. The mesh magazine holders in back were in good shape. If I go back there I might be able to pull them and see how much they ask for them.
