due to DOT regulations you must buy the complete assembly. The lenses are glued to the housings. 550maranello is selling some used but in great shape ones from his 94 E500.

You could buy the Euro lens (they will fit), but it would be $$$ to get from Germany via Speed-Autoteile...

'94 and '95 were specific to those two years only and are pretty pricy for the complete headlights. I never messed with changing the lens, they are not commonly available and AFAIK part of the headlight assy.

Before I would pay the nearly $700 for Bosch originals I would find some DEPO's (an aftermarket brand) that are similar - well, let me tell you from experience actually, I have a set of DEPOS on on of my '87's and a set of Bosch Eurps on the other. I upgraded the one with DEPOs to look like a '95. The fit on the DEPO's is not as good as Bosch but they are Euro lights which means they light up the road better than Original DOT Bosches.

I also chose to get rid of the wipers while I was at it and purchased Euro trim plates without the holes for the wiper motors. Had the local paint shop paint them while they were touching up a few small chips on the body for a total of $200.
I saved a bunch by going with DEPOS and increased the lighting efficiency plus it looks a lot better now. I'll post a pic if your interested (I can't find that file right now!)

Oh yeah I would have gone with used headlights if I could have located a decent set, all of the ones I saw had plastic starting to craze or (worse) yellow from UV and lots of stone chips. If your lucky you might find a good set of used headlamps in which case go for it!

The 94/95 USA wipers will bolt on to any Euro lights, 86-95. So he could get get 94/95-style Depos and bolt those on. However, the 94/95 USA lights use a proper H4 bulb, and the light output is nearly equal to Euros. You won't see much, if any, difference going from 94/95 USA lights to 94/95 Euro lights (Depo, Bosch, or otherwise). The 94/95 USA lights are actually quite good, just expensive to replace if you want OE.

BTW - all 94/95 USA lights have full glass lenses, same as all 86-95 Euro lights.

Only the funky 86-93 USA lights had those silly plastic lenses over the H3 fog reflector. The plastic would turn color, get brittle, crack, etc etc...
